Westmounters in Support of Michael Stern for Mayor.

Dear Editor, Westmount Independent,

We are proud Westmount residents who are blessed to be able to raise our families in this community. We are also civic- minded entrepreneurs and businesspeople. Our work has taught us the importance of financial discipline and honed our negotiation skills and consensus building abilities.

Over the past few years, we have grown increasingly concerned about the declining condition of our community’s services, roads, parks and facilities and the efficiency of municipal leadership to plan and provide these services.

We write this letter to highlight the opportunity that Westmount has to improve our services in a pragmatic and cost-effective way.

We need to elect a mayor with strong analytical skills, experience managing budgets and negotiating significant contracts, and the personality to build consensus within our diverse municipality. Michael Stern is the only candidate in our upcoming election who has proven to have all of these attributes.

As a senior audit partner at Ernst & Young, Michael advised many entrepreneurs like us as they have tackled challenging financial and operational questions. He has been a leader in his business and personal communities for decades, and he knows how to work with people of all backgrounds to find solutions.

We have known Michael and his family for a long time, and we are thrilled to see him step forward and offer his considerable skills to improve our community. We urge our fellow Westmounters to hear Michael’s ideas for our city, to meet him at his many public appearances, and to support him as he seeks to improve the Westmount that we all love.

I feel it is time for a change ! For an experienced,financially qualified, intelligent  person to run our city! Michael Stern has the credentials. He will not put up with the unpleasant  mess and disturbances that we tax paying Westmounters have had to deal with in recent years! Westmounters!
